Sun Tunnels
A Sun Tunnel, also known as a Solar Tube or Tubular Skylight, is a metal tube lined with highly-reflective material that bounces the sun’s rays through a building, starting from an entrance-point located on its roof. The entrance point is a dome which is specially designed to reflect as much sunlight as possible into the tube. The light is reflected through the tube and directed into your home, through a diffuser that spreads the natural light through the room.
Light transmission efficiency is greatest if the tube is short and rigid in nature; in flexible tubes, much of the light intensity is lost. This is why we only use rigid tubing in our installations. Many manufacturers claim they have the most reflective materials inside their specific tubes, but testing different brands of sun tunnels’ illuminance with a digital light meter has proven that there’s no perceptible difference between brands.
We offer sun tunnels in two residential sizes: 10” and 14". The larger tunnels will let in twice the light, but the smaller tunnels may better fit certain spaces such as closets, hallways, small bathrooms, etc. No matter what size you chose, the light transmitted into your home creates a vibrant, natural feeling!
*When deciding where you want your solar tubes, please keep in mind that your solar tube may have to be placed up to 8 inches away from your chosen location to accommodate the rafters running through your ceiling.
We can install on any type of roof -- wood shake, asphalt, tile, metal, and flat roofs -- no matter the condition!

The 10" sun tunnel is designed to illuminate an area of approximately 150-200 square feet. Great for closets, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and hallways.
The 14" sun tunnel is designed to illuminate an area of approximately 300-400 square feet. Perfect for master closets, entryways, bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchens.
Our sun tunnels are glare free!
Extra Options:
The 10" package costs $650, plus any extensions.
The 14" package costs $750, plus any extensions.
The 'base' package includes a completely installed sun tunnel on an asphalt shingle roof with a maximum length of 42" from roof to ceiling.
If ceiling to roof is greater than 42", any necessary 2’ extensions are an additional $50 each.
Metal roofs, tile roofs and flat membrane roofs are approximately $200 more due to the special flashing and extra labor required for those types of roofs.
Please note that pricing may differ slightly for certain houses based on variants such as roof steepness, obstructions in an attic that need to be addressed, etc.
Our Guarantee:
-We will re-fluff any insulation that we have worked with when we leave the attic space for the final time.
-We will sweep and remove as much debris from the roof as possible.
-We will clean up any surfaces in your home on which ‘construction’ dust has settled.
-And we cover all our work with a 5-year warranty.
Solar Night Light: $50 each
The solar night light provides steady low-level light from sunset to sunrise. The gentle light is compared to moonlight; just bright enough to see your way through a room at night but soft enough that it won’t keep you awake.
At $50, this upgrade pays for itself through the Solar Federal Tax Credit!*

Diffuser Upgrade: $30
Diffusers help create different light effects inside your house. The diffuser that comes with the kit looks fantastic and is usually what customers choose to keep, but feel free to ask us about any of these other options!
All diffusers keep the clean “daylight” color of sunlight coming into your home, except for the Natural Light diffuser and Dimming diffuser.
Our 2 most popular diffusers:
The Natural Light diffuser has a warm tint to it that makes your lighting similar to the color of a “soft white” lightbulb.
The Dimming diffuser reduces the amount of light that comes through your sun tunnel, for customers who feel that their sun tunnels are too bright for a certain space!
Electric Light Kit Upgrade: $150 each
If you would like to replace an existing light with a solar tube but don't want to lose the option of turning on a light at night, this upgrade is for you! This light fixture inside a sun tunnel allows you to have natural sunlight in the daytime and conventional lightbulb-illumination at night, all in the same ceiling space!
We can also install a sun tunnel with a light upgrade where there wasn’t a pre-existing light. Price will vary depending upon the amount of necessary electrical work.
